New Aprons and Ramp Service Station Building Design in Athens International Airport
This project was awarded by Athens International Airport and included the Detailed Design for the:
- New apron Y2 (25,000m2.)
- New general aviation apron (20,750 m2)
- New ramp service station building (4,000m2)
The construction of the new aprons was directly affecting the main surface drainage works of the north part of the airport which included a 12m wide trapezoidal ditch and a stormwater pumping station with capacity 3m3/s. Therefore, together with the newly proposed works, the team designed temporary works to provide a safe outlet to the pumping station which was necessary to be fully operational during the construction phase.
